will talk about the SKYWARN(tm) in Maine and New Hampshire and the need to expand the pool of weather spotters and how the program works.

Are RF fields harmful to humans? Sometimes!
Are the fields around my ham shack at a safe level? Probably Can I be sure? When you signed your license application, you promised the FCC that you would make sure Can't I ignore the risks and get away with it? Maybe; depends on how lucky you feel If you'd like to know more, come to Steve's presentation. Before moving to Maine, Steve was a scientist at Oak Ridge National Lab. One of the research areas in which he worked was on the effects of RF fields on humans.

Reflections on the activities of a pioneer ham 1912-1983. Reminisce with Al as he talks about the history of amateur radio during his father's lifetime

"Digital Discovery" Lee Trask, W1LWT
Lee will talk about several digital modes that has fascinated the amateur radio hobby. Come learn about PSK31, MFSK15, Packet, SSTV, ATV and other interesting modes used within the hobby.
Lee is the Net Control on the KQ1L linked repeater for the Digital Discovery net which primarily features hams exchanging Slow Scan Television pictures over the linked repeater.

"Camaraderie of QRP" Rex Harper, W1REX

QRP enthusiast Rex Harper will discuss the wonderful fraternity of low power operation and how people can enjoy more out of operating with less.

Bob, WB4APR is the father of APRS. He work with Packet Concepts during the 1980s and developed the APRS protocol. APRS, Automatic Packet Reporting System is more then a Position reporting system as it is sometime called. Bob will be with us by phone to do a Powerpoint presentation:

Tables

Tables at the Hamfest are $8 for the first, and $7 for each additional table. For clubs or non-profit groups, your registration gives you one free table with one free admission to promote your club or group. If you want to sell items, then additional tables are $8 each and $6 for each person working the tables.
